STOP THE OXFORD ANIMAL LAB
Meet 12.30pm, Broad Street, outside Balliol College, Oxford OX1 3BJ
Oxford University are currently engaged in building a new animal torture centre on South Parks Rd. They persistently tried to cover up their true intentions for the new building, and when their propaganda was exposed as a tissue of lies, they tried to silence campaigners opposing the new laboratory by taking out an injunction against them to prevent them from disseminating the truth.
The police were recently called in to investigate allegations of cruelty to a monkey. The monkey was suffering from a brain infection caused by electrodes being inserted into its brain, through a chamber in its head. Despite requests from both the vet and the Home Office Inspector for the monkey to be put out of its misery the vivisector refused to comply with the request because the monkey was an "Asset". Eventually he was forced to back down but not soon enough to prevent the long-drawn out suffering of this animal.
The lab on South Parks Rd is only half built; work has been halted for the last 19 weeks but could resume very soon. It may have been too late to save this monkey, but it's not too late to stop the further development of this project, where countless other animals are destined to suffer a similar fate if it goes unopposed. Let's show them that we are determined to stop this new laboratory from ever being completed.
Stand up and SPEAK for the animals NOW!
The following harrowing images were taken inside the animal laboratories at Cambridge University.
They serve as a shocking reminder of what sort of abuse will take place at Oxford if we allow part of what was to take place at Cambridge to move to the new research centre currently under construction at Oxford
This monkey is highly distressed
This tiny baby monkey was gassed to death
This monkey is dead
This monkey is undergoing painful surgery to his head
This monkey too is dead
Here are many dead baby monkeys their bodies just thrown away into a plastic bag and put out for rubbish
Another miserable monkey undergoing pointless tests
They are used merely as scientific objects, and this is how they end up.
A few hours of your day will make all the difference, if you consider yourself a compassionate animal lover, then prove it to yourself, your friends and most importantly the animals because they are dependant on people like us.
