Hey everyone, We decided that we could do alot more with anti-bad and that we would like to try some charity drives probably to take place every other month. Please tell us what you think and suggest worthy causes to donate to. We will have to debate all aspects of th cause suggested to decide if a cause is the most pressing and deserving. We ask that you are not offended by this.

Well, before you pin down a charity, what sort of fund raising are we talking about? Would you raise money through the school, bring and buy, cakes stall.......

What about a sort of concert, only better advertised and with better bands and less technical problems than the School Rockbands night?

At the moment I think that donations of old clothes, toilettries and so on is desperately needed (although you may have heard otherwise). People are also in need if bikes, if you have old bikes, they would most definitely be appreciated, the surviving victims of the Tsunami are lacking any means of transport. I have contacts who are shipping donations out so we can be sure that they are DIRECTLY donated to those in need, the local fund is called 'the Sri Lankan rebuild project'. Baby food, clothing and so is also needed, the donations are fitted into catagories :
Baby stuff Food (tinned) Dried food Water Soft Drinks Male adult clothes Female adult clothes Childrens clothes Bedding Cardboard.
Choose your catagory, box up your donations and label with a black marker, thank you.

We would have to get a venue. Pay the bands etc. But then if the money was going for charity the bands would play for free. I don't know about the venue though they might give us a discount.

it depends on how the town board looks at it, and if we get enough interest. we'll have to ask around, see if there is any interest, and then we'll ask. i know a few guys up at the council, maybe they could give us a hand.

No offence, it's just gone christmas, people won't have all that much cash to spare, plus lots of gigs are taking place to raise money. I'd strongly urge people to donate what's needed RIGHT NOW like food and water, more suitable for teens to help out/donate etc. Although money is in obvious need.
