hey guys, sorry i haven't posted in quite a while.
well, we're all gonna be labled anyway and i think nothing we do will stop it outside our community.
i've beem a "Geek" since year 7 and i admit i have the classic qualities to be one, but i've just got to get used to it and ignore any type of abuse that's been thrown at me for the past 4 or 5 years.
me and a friend went to a gig a few nights ago up at Cardiff Barfly and we had a brilliant night. We agreed that this was because everyone was having such a good time regardless of age, gender ect.
classifying people isn't gonna stop any time soon so i guess we'll just have to ignore it and don't encourage it ourselves.

I agree that it 'won't go away' but it fascinates me how insecure people feel when confronted by the 'unknown' i.e. what they havn't already labelled. What annoys me is how people can label someone within seconds of seing them, without even talking to them. Sometimes labelling is necessary ( to a certain degree), but the extent of labelling is ridiculous and is the basis of prejudice, stereotyping and bullying.

Something interesting a wise man once told me was that being afraid of something different was as natural as breathing and he used this example...
One of the first things a baby learns is gravity. ie; things fall down, not up. When a baby first sees a helium balloon, they register signs of fear.
I tried to argue against it, as i don't like what it signifies, but there is a bit of a niggle which makes we wonder whether we're all predisposed to discrimination...?
In Peace, Jem

I agree that we are all inevitably subjected to discrimination ( the obvious evidence lies within the fact that everyone is born different ), what I don't agree with is how needless discrimination causes pain and suffering unto those who it is subjected to, it is the needlessness and brutality of modern day discrimination that is tearing appart society.
